Wrightwood Fitness invites you to train with us as we prepare for the Angeles National Forest 25K trail race! Led by long-time trail/ultra-runners Michelle and Brent Speers, training will take place every Saturday morning, beginning April 6th.
Although running experience is not required, a commitment to training is. Training will be progressive in mileage, terrain technicality and elevation gain, starting with four miles and working our way up to running the actual course itself a few weeks prior to race day. Most runs will be local, however, we'll also do two training runs on trails out of Sierra Madre and Altadena, in addition to the actual race course starting at the Mt. Wilson Pavilion. At the first meeting/group run, you'll be given the full schedule of training (which includes dates, times, courses, mileage and elevation gain) for the three months leading up to the race. You'll receive a complete weekly training/cross-training schedule for the 14 weeks leading up to the event as well.
The 25K training is free to everyone. Prior to registering for the race, you will be given a 25% off discount code, along with special pricing to attend classes at Wrightwood Fitness during the three-month training cycle.
