I’ve had an issue with eating for as long as I can remember, and even as a child, food wasn’t my thing. For years, I never wanted to be over 100 lbs because I hated the thought of being heavier; I’ve struggled with the idea of gaining weight. So often I was told, “you’re so lucky you’re skinny,” but only my family knew the demons I was battling. I suffered some serious health issues during the pregnancies with both my kids, and as a result, I had no appetite and subsequently lost more weight. At 5’ 5” I weighed 102 lbs. Then one day, as I scrolled through old pictures, I came across one of myself that made me feel absolutely terrible about the way I looked. It was then that I decided to take the first step toward change. I reached out to Michelle, and she has helped me achieve my first weight goal of 110 lbs. Although I’m still battling idea of the additional weight, I’ve gained muscle, so I’m starting to feel better about how I look. It’s been the biggest accomplishment for me. I had always been so terrified to gain weight and beat myself up over any jump up the scale. After committing to some positive life changes, I’ve never felt stronger or better about the way I look. My new mantra is “Strong is the new skinny!”

I thought long and hard before hiring Michelle as my personal trainer, as I was worried about spending the money and if would I benefit physically. These worries were immediately put to rest after my first session with Michelle. When you train with her, you work with someone who is invested in your whole health. Michelle works with you on nutrition and exercise, and she teaches you that they go hand in hand. Every workout we did was planned and progressed from previous workouts. Michelle challenged me and gently pushed me out of my comfort zone. I grew stronger and healthier, and most importantly, I feel great about myself and have great energy!
For well over 25 years I have struggled with my weight. I tried many diets and would lose the weight, but as soon as I went off the diet, the weight I lost would return, along with a few extra pounds. In August of 2017, I had a health issue, which was truly a wake up call for me. I had to do something about my weight, so I turned to Michelle for help. She talked about diets and why they are rarely successful, and if I wanted to feel better, I needed to make a permanent life change. With Michelle's guidance and support, I started down the path of making healthy choices and eating to fuel my body. I have lost 25 pounds in a little over two months and I have more energy, my skin looks better, my back hurts less, I sleep better and I'm a happier person. I lowered my cholesterol and my blood pressure. I still have more weight to lose, but with Michelle's guidance and inspiration, I will succeed!
